IPv6

We specialize in the deployment of IPv6 and IPv6 connectivity. This server is IPv6 enabled and located on the IPv6 network at: 2001:470:1:74::2 in the USA.

You access this server from 38.107.191.85. If the address contains several "." you are still on IPv4 if it contains several ":" then congratulations you are IPv6 enabled.

We provide Web hosting on an IPv6 enabled platform. By default your web site will be reachable over IPv4 and IPv6 at no extra cost.

Avonsys is the IPv6 pioneer in the Pacific region with its great initiative and leadership to put this paradise region on parity with the world in the imminent transition to IPv6. The IPv6 transition needs practice knowledge in the proximity of the area and Avonsys with Franck Martin's exquisite talent and sense of humor make this work a walk in the park

For our office in Fiji, we have been assigned by APNIC the network 2001:df0:67::/48 for IPv6 and the AS55327. We have established IPv6 connectivity with BGP peering via an IPv4 tunnel to Hurricane Electric using Unwired as ISP, we plan to add more tunnels using other ISPs in Fiji until we can have direct IPv6 peering to a Fiji ISP.

On the 21st January 2010, we reached only 10% of IPv4 addresses for IANA to allocate to the Regional Internet Registries (RIR: APNIC, ARIN, RIPE). It is expected that by the end of 2011, IANA will have no more IPv4 allocation left for RIR. See the counter on the right to see the percentage of IPv4 left to allocate. It will take a bit more time before there is no more IPv4 to allocate to Internet Service Providers (ISP) and other organizations. The Internet will not suddenly stop, but (economical) growth on the IPv4 Internet will seriously slow down. IPv6 is slowly replacing IPv4. It takes in average a year to execute a smooth installation of IPv6: from planning to having machines and services operating on IPv6 like they do on IPv4 without counting finding a provider that will give you IPv6 connectivity.

IPv6 installation has more costs than benefits (New equipment, training, programing,...), these costs can be easily mitigated if the installation is properly planned in time, but if an organization needs to stay competitive or have an economical advantage over its competitors, having IPv6 early is definitively a question of survival.
